FAQs
YOU ASK - WE ANSWER
How long does each therapy session take?
Each therapy session ranges from 45 to 60 minutes. Therapy sessions are typically scheduled at a weekly or bi-weekly rate but as every person is different, your counselor will discuss the appropriate frequency of treatment after their initial assessment.
What is Counseling?
Counseling is a collaborative process between a therapist and client which involves the development of a confidential, therapeutic, helping relationship. In this relationship, the therapist acts as a facilitator in helping the client more accurately understand themselves and their worldview; to better understand their feelings and behaviors. Discussions are conducted in a safe place, free of judgement, and confidential.
*Note: Your counselor will discuss confidentiality and it's limits during your intake session.

What is the difference between an LPC and LPC Associate
An LPC is a licensed clinician that has a master's degree, completed internships and completed the 3,000 post-graduate hours required to practice without further supervision. An LPC-Associate has completed their master's degree, internships, and is only pending their 3,000 post-graduate hours. They are supervised by a LPC-Supervisor while they obtain these hours.
What should I expect my at my first appointment?
First, our front desk staff will make sure all intake forms have been completed either on your patient portal or in office. Once all intake forms are completed, you will join your counselor in their office where they will go over confidentiality with you and begin asking a series of questions to get to know you and your unique situation. Intake sessions can often feel like an interview, but they are an important part of your treatment as it will give your counselor a better understanding of the symptoms and concerns you are experiencing.
Do you offer court related services?
I have disability paperwork that needs to be completed. Are you able to assist me with this?
Unfortunately we do not offer court related services at this time. If you need assistance for court related matters such as divorces, custody concerns, expert testimony, etc, we are happy to provide you a list of referrals to other providers that offer these services.
At this time, we do not have a counselor available that has experience completing FMLA or disability documentation. If you require such documentation, we are happy to provide referrals to other providers in your area that can assist you with this request.
What ages do you provide services for?
We provide services for children, adolescents, and adults. Services are available for ages 5 and above at this time.
